Summer Trends

Colour Block

Grab attention with some explosive, bold colours and mix them in all manner of clashing combinations! Look for reds, oranges, hot pinks, greens, purples and blues. To complete the look use some alike accessories, but also give it a touch of gold! This has appeared in many designer collections such as Gucci, Jil Sander & MaxMara!

Look No. 1

A one-colour jumpsuit and add some hot-coloured accessories with wedges and a cute brown leather satchel bag or even a floral pattern one, that’s perfect for the beach. Going out for dinner? Wear some gold accessories, heels and a clutch bag to make you look more elegant! You can also do the same with a playsuit.

Look No. 2

If you’re not too keen on jumpsuits, go for trousers! With a bright coloured blazer and a baggy (or not) bright or patterned shirt, that’s even tucked in! Shoulder bag, heels or wedges also go with this look as well as any kind of jewellery. Be careful!! Don’t make it over the top ;)

Look No. 3

When it comes to dresses, a short, high-waist dress is perfect for sunny weather, as well as a maxi dress. Everything else that’s mentioned above you can also include. Add a cute hairband and throw a cardigan over the top if it gets windy and off you go! :)

Romantic Pleats

Light materials as well as colours are something very precious this summer, along with different textures such as frills, especially in dresses. Embrace the sweetest of trends, silks in neutral and sugar shades!

Look No. 1

This is more of an elegant look. Silk dresses in these colours and cuts are perfect for a date! Find yourself a clutch, whether it’s pink or even brown leather. Heels or dolly shoes in browns, pinks and whites will be a great match! If you have your hair up, don’t be scared to add a tiny accessory such as earings! :)

Look No. 2

Second look is a playsuit or even a blouse with shorts. Dots are also trendy this summer looking at Valentino, but instead of patterns, what adds life to the outfit are the pleats! Shoe and bag tips mentioned above will also suit this, but don’t include too much accessories as it is the dress you want to focus other’s eyes on :) When it gets windy, wear a cropped jacket or even a blazer and if you wish, include a light material scarf with pretty prints or polka dots!

Stripes

Dazzle with your bold, block coloured stripes this summer! Although it isn’t the look that suits everyone, experimenting is always worth it! Stripes have appeared in designer’s collection such as Prada (of course!) Versus, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Jonathan Sounders, Jill Sander, Cynthia Steffe and Moschino.

Look No. 1

Stripes are huge this summer and are a really cute look for the beach! Wear a big-striped dress, whether it’s coloured or black and white it does not matter because every stripe is trendy in summer 2011!!! Wear wedges, striped canvas bags (which have appeared in H&M :)) and of course a sunhat!!! (Debenhams)

Look No. 2

Prefer trousers? Looking at Moschino (we love this brand), wear them with a stripy tucked in top! Or go for a plane blouse and a stripy blazer to achieve a more elegant look, adding heels, a clutch and slight jewellery.

Look No. 3

For a more office look, a striped, black & white cotton skirt with a plane white blouse will be elegant and pretty. Another idea is to wear a tight, knee-length black or grey skirt and a tiny-striped blouse with a blazer to throw on top on windy days :) also good for interviews.

Whites

Simple structured white mannish trouser suits were seen in Celine, Chloe, Calvin Klein and Stella McCartney. Dolce and Gabbana also surprised us with their snow white collection for this summer including dresses and lots of lace patterns which we have fell in love with :)

Look No. 1

To achieve this look, buy some simple white trousers, with a white blouse or shirt. You can always combine it with some accessories such as gold earrings and necklace just like Dolce and Gabbana to complete this neat, classy look. If you think this is still too simple, choose a different coloured bottom or top. By choosing clothes with patterns, you can add more life to it, if plane white isn’t your style.

Look No. 2

Dolce & Gabbana have beautifully captured the beauty of white, but adding slight accessories to the outfit. As the collection carries on, the white starts to fade in with animal patterns like leopard and floral prints, which is something you could go for this summer with white flare trousers and accessories such as leopard or floral print hair bands and scarves.
